Energy Savings up to 37%

Lower Cooling and Air Conditioning Costs in Summer
When sunlight enters a building, its shortwave radiation is absorbed by interior surfaces and transformed into longwave heat radiation. This heat can no longer escape through the glazing, leading to uncontrolled indoor overheating.
The MultiFilm®film addresses this problem effectively. Its integrated aluminium layer acts like a mirror, reflecting a significant portion of the incoming solar energy back outside—before it can turn into heat indoors.
Despite this reflective function, the film maintains a light appearance from the outside. Thanks to its micro-embossed surface, it avoids a mirror-like look, preserving both aesthetics and transparency.
The Result:
-
Prevention of the greenhouse effect
-
Pleasant room temperatures
-
Blocking of up to 88% of total solar energy
-
Possible savings of up to 37% on cooling energy
Save on Heating Costs in Winter
The MultiFilm® sun protection blinds with side guides help reduce heat loss through windows due to its insulating properties. Additionally, the aluminium coating of the film reflects heat radiated from inside back into the room.
The Result:
-
Reduced cooling of indoor spaces
-
Improved U-value of windows and facades
-
Savings on heating energy
Depending on the film type used, up to 37% of annual energy costs can be saved.

Energy Label for MultiFilm Roller Blinds
The cooling energy demand (summer heat protection) and heating energy demand (winter thermal insulation) are both clearly illustrated by the Energy Label from the Institute for Window Technology Rosenheim. A comparison of energy efficiency for windows with and without roller blinds demonstrates a significant improvement in energy efficiency classes for both cooling and heating energy.
The greatest effect can be achieved through proper usage. In summer, the blinds should be closed with the first rays of sunlight and opened at night to optimally protect rooms from heat. In winter, if sunlight is not too dazzling, keeping the blinds open during the day allows for solar heat gains, while closing them at night prevents heat loss through the windows.
Automated building control systems provide convenient solutions. All electrically operated MULTIFILM® roller blind systems can be integrated into standard building automation systems. Operation and control can be easily managed via programming or a simple mouse click. By incorporating sun sensors into the building automation or using appropriate control algorithms, energy savings can be further optimized. Since MULTIFILM® roller blind systems are installed indoors and are therefore independent of weather conditions, there is no need for wind sensors.
