MULTIFILM® Special Solutions for Airport Towers

MultiFilm® roller systems are specially developed for applications where glare-free visibility is crucial, such as in airport towers. They provide optimal views of the runway and apron while minimizing glare and reflections caused by sunlight.
Features:
-
Multi-layered films: Guarantee glare-free visibility despite incoming light
-
Customizable systems: Special drive and guide systems that can be integrated into the architectural features of a tower
-
Additional application areas:
Crane operator cabins
Control rooms on ships, locks, or waterways
MultiFilm® technology ensures safety and efficiency wherever clear visibility is essential.
MultiFilm® APCT-Systems – Optimal Solution for Inclined Glass Surfaces
The APCT-systems are specifically developed for airport towers and control stations to minimize glare caused by indirect radiation on inclined window fronts (usually around 30°). These systems are also suitable for other inclined glass surfaces and require additional guide elements.
MultiFilm®ILRK B / ILRM B (Jumbo-Roll)– Profile with Large Roller
The ILRK B / ILRM B system is optimized for inclined window fronts and provides a reliable shading solution.
Features and Advantages:
-
Protection of the blind: Plastic wheels (50 mm in diameter) ensure a distance from the glass surface, reducing dirt and damage
-
Stable functionality: The heavy ITEM bottom rail tightens the blind and guarantees even and straight rolling
-
Design flexibility: Compatible with F1/F2 and C2 cassettes
-
Multiple drive options: Manual via chain or electrically with 24-volt or 230-volt motors
-
Application areas: Airport towers and control stations with inclined window fronts and other applications with inclined glass surfaces that require additional guide elements

MultiFilm® APCT – MRK / MRM (Mini-Roll)
The MRK / MRM mini rollers were originally designed for use in horizontal and vertical counterweight systems to ensure smooth movement of bottom rails in guides. They have since proven themselves in glare protection systems in towers, control rooms, and skylights.
Features:
-
Broad application across different systems
-
Usable in blackout systems—together with L-guide rails
-
The small distance to the glass requires a scratch-resistant film

MultiFilm® APCT – SK / SM (Rope-Fix)– Rope Guidance C2
The Rope Guidance provides a versatile and robust solution, especially in shipbuilding and vehicle construction, as well as in sun and glare protection in buildings. It ensures stability even under difficult conditions, such as strong seas or wind.
Advantages and Features:
-
Stable guidance: With at least two cable guides across the width, the blind stays securely in position even under extreme loads. An integrated spring tension keeps the cables taut
-
Flexibility: Suitable for geometrically shaped rectangular systems with narrow bottom rails, can be expanded with additional tension cables to stabilize very wide systems
-
Durability: Ideal for long-term use in demanding environments
-
Application areas:
Shipbuilding and vehicle construction due to stability during movement and vibration
Buildings: Precise guidance for sun and glare protection in various very wide architectural designs

MULTIFILM® APCT – TFK B (Rope-Flex)– Telescopic Guide
Die APCT-TFK B systems combine the benefits of standard side guides with the added stability of a telescopic guide in sleeves. This design provides even higher reliability and flexibility, especially in geometrical systems.
Advantages and Features:
-
Maximum stability: Particularly suitable for systems with very heavy bottom rails, as the telescopic guide ensures precise movement, even under load
-
Flexibility through guide sleeves: The guide sleeve is mounted outside the system and adapts freely to movements
-
A robust alternative to systems with large wheels to ensure the distance from the glass
-
Application areas: APCT systems requiring high stability and precision, and applications where conventional wheel guides are not optimal
