Film - a MULTI talent
The film is the core of our products and was originally developed for the aerospace industry:
a transparent polyester film with aluminium coating facing the outside
The film is a unique material with triple effect:
- Thanks to its aluminium coating, it effectively keeps heat away from the room and provides optimum room temperatures.
- It softens the incoming daylight and protects reliably against glare.
- Thanks to the film’s transparency the clear view to the outside is ensured.
Functionality
Heat protection in summer
Expansive glazing creates a bright and friendly atmosphere in the building interior. However, without sun protection, the glass façade quickly turns into heat trap: the short-wave solar radiation is absorbed in the room and converted into long-wave heat radiation, which cannot escape anymore to the outside through the glazing. As a result, the building heats up uncontrollably.
The aluminium layer of the film counteracts this: it acts like a mirror and reflects incident solar energy back to the outside immediately, before it can be converted into heat inside the room.
The result:
- Prevention of the greenhouse effect
- Comfortable room temperatures
- Reflection of up to 88 % of the total solar energy
- Significant cooling energy savings

Thermal insulation in winter
The film roller blind with side guides acts against the thermal loss through the window due to its insulating properties. The aluminium coating reflects the heat radiating from inside to the outside back into the room.
The result:
- Reduced room cooling
- Improved U-value of windows and façade
- Saving heating energy

Glare protection
Ideal light conditions and pleasant room temperatures ensure a comfortable working atmosphere and enhance the employees’ performance abilities. The conditions are created by film roller blinds:
- Softening the incidental daylight
- Reduction of too large light density differences
- Prevention of annoying glare, mirror effects and reflections
- Natural room lighting with daylight
- Good contrast on the computer screen
- Eye protection
- Ensuring clear view to the outside

- Highly reflective due to aluminium layer applied to the inside
- Wafer-thin (0.1 - 0.2 mm)
- Available in different colours, can be individually coloured
- Visible transmittance from 0 % to approx. 10 %
- Radiation reflection up to 84 %
- Hardly inflammable (B1), non-trickling and weakly smoky (according to ÖNORM A 3800 Part 1)
- Very high UV protection (UV-transmission corresponds with the light transmittance)

Flat embossing
- Piqué-type embossing using unique flat embossing procedure
- Resulting in high resistance to mechanical stresses (e.g. scratches)
- Diffuse light scattering into the room
- Preservation of good transparency to the outside
- Patented procedure for film stabilization and optical film improvement
- Soft arched pleating
- Ensures a harmonious interior and exterior view
- Fold distance freely selectable between 30 and 100 mm
- Pleating up to 3 m film width by which shading of large format façade elements is possible with just a single system
- Special joining method by ultrasonic welding for high-strength fusion of individual film segments up to a size of 3 x 8 m
- This enables shading of large surface glazings with just a single system
- Inconspicuous, fully resilient seam
- Seam of adjacent systems always at the same height
